What to wear for the horse safari
You do not need riding clothes. You need clothes you can move in and shoes that stay on.
Wear comfortable clothing you can move in, comfortable trousers — ideally long — and closed sports shoes. Leave flip-flops, sandals, high heels and loose flapping clothes at the hotel. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat and some water. A riding helmet is available for every rider and is handed out at the riding centre.
Wear
- Comfortable clothing you can move in — sports or outdoor clothes are ideal
- Comfortable trousers, ideally long — the inside of a leg against a saddle for an hour is what long trousers are for
- Closed, comfortable sports shoes — trainers are fine; the point is that they stay on and cover your toes
Leave at the hotel
- Flip-flops and sandals — they come off, and a stirrup is no place for a bare foot
- High heels — for obvious reasons
- Loose clothing that could catch on tack or flap in the wind
- Anything you would mind getting dusty. It is a countryside trail.
What shoes should I wear?
This is the question we get most, so the plain answer: closed sports shoes — trainers, running shoes, light walking shoes. Not sandals, not flip-flops, not heels, not anything backless. You do not need riding boots.
Bring
- Sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat for the open stretches — the forest is shaded, the shoreline is not
- Drinking water
- Your phone or camera — the shoreline stretch is the moment people photograph
- Apples or carrots, if you like — and ask the staff before feeding a horse
What is handed to you
A riding helmet, available for every rider, at the riding centre before the briefing. Nothing else is needed. Professional photos and videos are available to purchase there too; they are not part of the fare.
For a sunset or sunrise ride
The same, plus a light layer: it is cool early in the morning and after the sun goes down. Sunset and sunrise rides are separate bookings on request.
Ready to ride?
One ride to book, three to request, hotel transfer included, nothing charged online.
