Is a helmet included on the safari?

The short answer is yes. The longer answer is what the helmet is part of.

Yes — a riding helmet is available for every rider. It is handed out at the riding centre before the briefing, so you do not need to bring one. The helmet is one part of the ride's safety set-up, together with the briefing and short lesson, a horse matched to each rider, and a guide alongside the group throughout.

What is provided

A riding helmet for every rider, from the riding centre's own equipment, handed out when you meet the horses. It is included in the fare — there is nothing to hire and nothing to bring.

What the helmet is part of

A helmet on its own is not a safety system. The ride's safety comes from several things together: the safety briefing and riding instructions before anyone mounts, a horse matched to each rider's build and confidence, the group organised and led by the guide at a walk, the route managed for the day's ground and conditions, and the weather watched. The safety page lists all of it in one place.

Under the helmet

A hat does not fit under a riding helmet; bring one for before and after, not for the ride. Long hair is easiest tied back. Sunglasses are fine. If you have a helmet of your own and prefer it, bring it — the guide will tell you whether it is suitable.

Children

Helmets are available for child riders too. Children generally ride from age 6, at the guide's assessment on the day, and can have a staff member walk at the horse's head — the family page has the rest.

Ready to ride?

One ride to book, three to request, hotel transfer included, nothing charged online.

Questions

Do I need to bring a helmet?

No. A riding helmet is available for every rider at the riding centre.

Is the helmet included in the price?

Yes. There is nothing to hire and nothing extra to pay for it.

What else counts as safety equipment?

The helmet is the equipment; the rest of the safety set-up is procedure — the briefing, the matched horse, the guide alongside and the route managed on the day.
