Side Horse Safari

What happens if it rains?

A simple policy, and the reasoning behind it.

In bad weather the ride may be moved to another time or refunded in full. The decision is taken on the day, for the riders and for the horses. Short of that, the route may change with ground conditions — a wet trail is ridden differently from a dry one — and the guide reads the day. We do not print rainfall statistics or seasonal promises here; we tell you what happens when the weather turns.

The policy

If the weather makes the ride unsafe or unpleasant enough that it should not go ahead, it is moved to another time that suits you, or refunded in full. Nothing has been charged online, so a refund is a refund of nothing paid — you simply do not pay.

Who decides, and when

The decision is ours, taken on the day, by the people who know the trail and the horses. It is made for safety — slippery ground, wind, lightning — and for the horses, who do not enjoy standing in a storm any more than you do. If we move or cancel, we contact you on the number you booked with.

When the weather is merely mixed

The ride goes ahead, and the route may change with ground conditions: the guide may take a different line through the forest, keep off a stretch that is too soft, or shorten a section. The exact route may vary with weather, ground conditions, horse welfare, safety and the group's ability — that sentence is on every product page for a reason.

What to do on the morning

Nothing different, unless you hear from us. Be ready at your hotel's main entrance gate shortly before your confirmed pickup time. If the forecast worries you, message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you what we know.

What we will not tell you

How often it rains in Side, which month is driest, or that the weather is "almost always perfect". We do not have those numbers in front of us, and a page that pretends to would be guessing. What to wear covers the sun, which is the more usual problem.

Questions

Do I lose my money if the ride is cancelled for weather?

No. The ride is moved to another time or refunded in full — and since nothing is charged online, you simply do not pay.

Does the ride go ahead in light rain?

Usually the decision is about safety and the horses rather than a few drops. The guide decides on the day and the route may change with the ground.

Can I cancel myself if the forecast looks bad?

Yes — free of charge up to 24 hours before the ride. Inside that, message us and we will find a solution together.

From €40 per rider
