How long is the Side horse safari?

Riding time: about 1 hour

That is the time you are on the horse: out of the yard, along the pine-forest trails, across the open land, down to the shoreline stretch and back. It is ridden at a walk with the guide alongside, and a walk is not a race — the hour is a comfortable hour.

Total time: about 3 hours

Hotel gate to hotel gate. Roughly a third of it is riding; the rest is everything that makes the riding possible:

• The pickup round — the vehicle collects riders from across the strip, and the drive is longer from Gündoğdu or Kızılot than from Side itself
• The drive to the riding centre in the countryside
• Meeting the horses and being matched to yours
• Helmets, the safety briefing and the short lesson
• The ride
• The drive back to your hotel

Why we do not say "exactly"

Because it is not exact. A group of nervous first-timers takes a little longer to settle than a group that has ridden before; a pickup at the far end of the strip adds driving; the route may vary with weather, ground conditions, horse welfare and safety. "About" is the truthful word, and we would rather you planned around it than around a number we cannot keep.

The outing fits into a morning or an afternoon without giving up the day. Rides run daily, year-round; in summer the standard departures avoid the hottest part of the day. Your exact pickup time is assigned from the day's schedule and sent to you before the day — how that works.
