Which Çolaklı hotel, exactly

Çolaklı runs in clusters of near-identical names. Four hotels begin with Sural, three with Kamelya, three with Alba, three with Vonresort, two with Victory and two with Club Grand. They are separate buildings behind separate barriers, and a driver standing at one of them is a driver not standing at yours.

So put the whole name into the booking form — the suffix, the wing, whatever is printed on your key card. It is the single most useful thing you can do for a clean collection, and it counts for more here than in the smaller areas further east.

One to watch across areas: there is a Mary Palace Resort & Spa in Gündoğdu and a Mary Palace Resort here in Çolaklı. Choose the area first, then the name.

Second on the run from the west

Only Gündoğdu is collected ahead of you. Evrenseki, Kumköy, Side and the whole eastern half of the coast come afterwards, in that order, because the vehicle works the shore in one direction and does not double back.

Sitting near the front of that sequence is the only practical difference between your day and that of a guest booked further east. The horses, the guide, the route and the money are identical.

Professional photographs and video are the one thing sold separately; they are bought on the spot and settled there. We quote no figure for them, and food and drinks sit outside the fare as well.

The hour you came for

Shaded pine-forest trail, the open country behind Side, then a stretch of Mediterranean shoreline where the sand takes the sound out of the hooves. The pace is a relaxed walk from the first step to the last.

Beginners are the rule rather than the exception — that is the operator's own way of putting it, not a sales line. The instruction comes before the mounting, and children generally ride from age 6 if the guide is satisfied on the day.

The exact line the ride takes can move with the weather, the ground, the horses' welfare and how the group is riding. That is an operational judgement made on the morning, not a downgrade of what you booked.
